have been passing out leaf let's advising them they were illegally lodging on the streets and telling them the camp would be raided. then last night they issued a final order for the crowd to disburse. a few people left but about two dozen stayed and those two dozen were arrested and police took them into headquarters and charged them. >> they kept closing in on us and they kept taking us one by one and wrote down our names. >> take a look at the fence there, you may be able to see posted around telling them where they can wear it their belongings. they believe it was a legal protest and last yeah's or do -- last night's arrest was a

more victims. we are here at the middle school where he has been a teacher for years. according to the school website he teaches math science, and student councilco adviser and this morning he is behind bars for committing a lewd & lascivious conduct with a child under 14. the arrest came after reason reports of inappropriate relationships. the principal hut him on -- put him on administrative leave and he has a long history with the community and with students. pool are asking if you have any information any appropriate conduct call police.

occupied protest it turned into a homeless encampment. we have seen a steady stream of protesters returning to the area and they say they plan on reoccupying the site as soon as possible. >> i can't speak for everybody, as long as i am out here, i will be out here doing this and except for people losing their stuff it just makes us stronger so i hope everybody sees we are out here for the long run. >> reporter: san francisco police moved in as the encampment was settling down for the evening. they pass out information advising they were illegally lodging on the streets and would be raided. last night they arrested two dozen occupied protesters and brought them to headquarters.

campbell soup just announced they will eliminate 700 california jobs. and another calm bells soup plant in july of next year. they have about 20,000 workers and employees around the world. they say shutting down those two plants, sacramento and the one in new jersey will save the company more than $100 million in the first year. a stolen ipad sparked. it started around 5:00 between fillimore and sacramento streets. it ended at the corner of haze. it happened when a suspect grabbed a woman's i-pad. the suspect slammed into several cars including a minivan seriously injuring that

driver. flying debris hit a boy at a nearby playground. >> it was a metal object, i am assuming it was something off the van. >> it was heartbreaking and sad to see this going on in the community. >> now the boy is expected to make a full recovery and officers have been criticized for the chase. police insist they did not overreact to a stolen backpack and they say the city has been hit hard with a rash of stolen property. they were notified about a student who brought a gun to school. they did send out letters saying a boy, reportedly a 5th grader if he told anybody he had a weapon. this happened wednesday butler's did not go home until this week. a man was found shot to

death inside of a car. they found him 6:30 last night. they found a young man inside of a car who had been shot several times. we don't know his name yet and so far no word of a motive or whether any arrests have been made. investigators say he was targeted. there is an oversight hearing about the chevron refinery in richmond. that fire sent thousands of people to the hospital and three chevron employees were injured. skinner and lanni hancock said a lot needs to be done to make sure this never happens again. they need to issue an alert to other refineries about the pipe failure which caused the fire. they have power outages a lot and coming up at 6:47 how

football fans, the referee lock out is over. they have a new agreement for eight years which runs through the 20 and 19 seasons. the refs will be back on the field starting with tonight's cleveland browns baltimore ravens game. they are facing child abuse charges. they have more on the details of his arrest, claudine wong? >> reporter: i wanted to talk to the albany police department to check any new developments and they said nothing new right now but they are asking the public to come forward with any information about any inappropriate conduct with james and minors. this investigation started monday but it moved very quickly and this morning james is waking up behind bars. let's take you through with how this all started.

it started monday when the superintendent got word of inappropriate relationship with james and a former student. so she put the teacher on administrative leave and began an investigation. they arrested him at his home and booked him last night and the charge a lewd & lascivious conduct with a child urn the age of 14. he taught -- under the age of 14. school officials are calling this quote an incredibly devastating situation for everybody involved and this morning they are dealing with the fallout. here is what is happening, a substitute teacher will be in place today and monday. on monday kids will be reassigned to other classes and then they have counselors to

talk to students. then they are asking parents to come to a meeting at 5:00 and they will be able to ask questions of teachers and administrators. they are continuing to investigate and they are set to be arraigned on this charge at 2:00 p.m. ktvu channel 2 morning news. in scottville, they are trying to lawyer a girl -- lure a girl. a man approached a girl last friday at bah-hah drive and asked her if she wanted to get in. the week before a similar looking man approached a 15- year-old and they released two sketches in both cases where he is described as heavyset in his late 20s or early 30s. police say a man is accused

of trying to poison his girlfriend and has been released from jail and not been charged. care givers say he tried to kill his 63-year-old girlfriend by giving her bottled water containing chlorine. he said it is something that can cure almost any decease even -- disease even cancer. >> certainly i didn't intend to harm her and she was actively participating in this whole process. >> he takes the supplement himself for that is a seem what and -- emphysema and heart disease. palo alto is starting a new phase of replacing street lights with l.e.d.s. they say they are energy efficient and they will replace

lights from one road to another. they have about 30 power outages already this year. according to the utilities commission the average blackout lasts four hours. they have a backup plan to replace the power grid. in the east bay, if you are looking at a lot of the freeways for example, we are seeing more traffic when we get to the 580 interchange, you can watch portions slowing there and when you get to the toll plaza, there is a lot of weighting going on in the fast and cash track lanes without any major delays. this morning's commute in the san jose area, there is some slowed traffic at 880, here is

steve. we have a big fog bank on the coast, inland temperatures look like they will warm up under hazy sunshine and we look like we have a little bit of a breeze. we can't say the same for san francisco, monday was 64 and tuesday 62, yesterday was 62, today we are going to 63 and it has just been stuck, i can't change that. there are signs it can't kick in but it will definitely warm up. upper 40s for many and low-to- mid 50s, temperatures are not moving too much. a little low spinning off the coast, we are waiting for high pressure and if it does, it will get rid of that fog and it's not happening right now. inland, 80s to near 90 degrees and not much change, it will be warm to hot, away from the

coast and we are trying to get that fog to the coast and if it does it will warm up there as well. right now the average price for a gallon of gas in the united states is $3.79. that is up 30 cents from this time last year. meanwhile crude prices have fallen more than 9% in reason weeks and analysts say they do not expect much of a drop in gas prices. they are opting for by outs from the company. they will receive that amount during retirement age and it will go through financial reorganization. this is wild, flight attendants forced a pilot to turn around and land the plane and we will have more on what they were fighting about.
